1. Our upstairs carpet and stairs get all the traffic while the main floor is tile. Can you clean just those areas?

   Yes, and that's how most Agoura Hills jobs are quoted. In these two-story tracts the carpet is usually confined to the stairs, upstairs hall and bedrooms, so we price the areas you actually want done rather than a whole-house figure. Stairs take the most time per square foot because each tread and riser is cleaned by hand. The traffic lane at the top of the stairs and down the hallway almost always needs more dwell time and a second pass than the bedrooms do.

2. Between the dogs and the trails behind the neighborhood, our carpet is filthy. What actually comes out and what doesn't?

3. How soon can you get out here?

   Usually within a few days for standard bookings. Same-day is sometimes possible if a slot opens up, and it's more likely for a couple of rooms and a stairway than for a whole upstairs. Call and ask. We'll tell you what's open rather than pencil you in and push it. If you've got something urgent like a pet accident or ash tracked through the house, say so on the phone and we'll see what we can move.

4. What does it cost, and what makes one house more than another?

   Estimates are free and you get a firm quote before we start. No adjusting the number partway through. What moves the price: how many carpeted rooms and whether stairs are included, the condition of the traffic lanes, how long it's been since the last cleaning, pet urine treatment if it's needed, and whether we're moving furniture. Homes here are often owner-occupied for a long stretch and the carpet goes years between cleanings, so a first-time deep clean takes longer than annual maintenance and is quoted accordingly.

5. After a fire season with ash in the air, is cleaning the carpet worth doing?

   Yes. Fine ash settles into carpet and stays there, and vacuuming alone lifts the surface layer but leaves a lot behind in the pile. Extraction gets more of it out, along with the smoke odor that tends to sit in soft surfaces longer than on hard floors. If ash got in through open windows or doors, mention which rooms — we'll adjust our approach for those instead of treating the whole upstairs the same.
