1. My apartment carpet looks gray along the hallway and by the door. Is that permanent?

   Usually not, but it's the hardest soil we deal with in Los Angeles. That gray traffic lane is street grime, soot and brake dust tracked in on shoes, and it grinds down into the pile in the walkways first. On apartment-grade plush and low-pile loop, that soil binds to the fiber and a quick surface pass won't lift it. It needs a pre-spray with proper dwell time, agitation to break the grime loose from the yarn, then hot water extraction. Most traffic lanes come back a lot closer to the rest of the carpet than owners expect. If the pile is physically worn flat or abraded from years of foot traffic, cleaning removes the soil but can't restore fiber that's gone.

2. I'm moving out of a rental and my walkthrough is in two days. Can you get out that fast?

   Often yes. Move-out work is a big share of what we do here since so much of the city rents, and we keep slots open for it. Call in the morning and same-day or next-day is realistic much of the time. The limiting factor is usually how far apart our other jobs are that day, since crossing the city at the wrong hour eats an hour easily. Tell us your walkthrough date when you book and we'll work backward from it. Empty units clean faster and dry faster, so if the furniture is already out, we can usually be in and done quickly.

3. What does carpet cleaning cost for a place like mine?

   Estimates are free and you get a firm quote before we start, not after. What moves the number: how many rooms and how much of the floor is actually carpet. A lot of the older Spanish and Craftsman houses here are oak floors with area rugs, so the carpeted footprint is smaller than the square footage suggests. Also whether there's pet treatment involved, how heavy the traffic lanes are, how much furniture needs moving, and stairs. Occupied homes take longer than empty units. If anything changes once we see the carpet, we tell you before we touch it.

4. We have a dog in a small unit with no yard. Will cleaning actually fix the smell?

   It depends how deep it went. Pet density is high in LA rentals and a lot of dogs here get limited outdoor time, so accidents tend to repeat in the same spot. If it's in the carpet fiber only, cleaning with a pet-specific treatment handles it. If urine soaked through to the pad and subfloor, surface cleaning gives you a few good days and then the odor returns when it's humid. In those cases we treat the pad or tell you straight that the section needs replacing. It also matters what's under you: on a slab, urine sits and wicks back up; on a raised foundation, it can get into the subfloor. We check before quoting so you're not paying twice.

5. How long until I can walk on it, and does the marine layer slow drying down?

   Plan on several hours for normal foot traffic and longer before you put furniture back. We extract as much moisture as we can so we're not leaving you with a soaked carpet. Drying does run slower on gray mornings when the air is damp, and it's slower again in ground-floor courtyard apartments and units that don't get much cross-breeze. Opening opposite windows helps more than anything else. If you have a fan, point it across the floor. In a hillside home with good airflow, it goes quicker.
